The size and specification requirements for Blast furnace fire clay bricks

Blast furnace fire clay brick (BF fire clay brick) is made of refractory clay as the raw material. It is used in the throat, stack, hearth and bottom of small blast furnace lining and the stack of large blast furnace lining. 

BF fire clay brick should have high fire resistant strength at room temperature and can resist the wear and tear of charge in a long term. It should have small volume shrinkage in the long-term operation under high temperature, which is conducive to maintaining the integrity of the lining. It should have a low apparent porosity and low content of Fe2O3 to reduce the carbon deposition in the pores and avoid the damage caused by expansion. BF fire clay brick has better performance than common fire clay brick. 

 

China Metallurgical standard (YB / T 5050-1993) classifies the BF fire clay brick into ZGN-42 and GN-42 according to the physical and chemical parameters. 

 

There are the following provisions for the section spallation of BF fire clay brick:

4) If the width is not more than 0.25mm, length no limit;

5) If the width is between 0.26-0.5mm, length no more than 15mm;

6) If the width is more than 0.5mm, not allowed. 

 

There are the following provisions for the section cracks of BF fire clay brick:

1) If the width is not more than 0.25mm, length no limit;

2) If the width is between 0.26-0.5mm, length no more than 40mm;

3) If the width is more than 0.5mm, not allowed.
